1930s Double Wedding Ring Quilt, 78" x 67"
This
is a fine example of a hand quilted and hand stitched Double Wedding Ring quilt.
This quilt is skillfully arranged soft vintage calico prints and saturated
pastels with a light weight batting. There are numerous small florals,
geometric patterns and even checks. The rings are joined with 2 yellow mustard squares
joined to 2 blue square. Centered for point star motif with a quilted
round motif with a 5 pointed star in center of motif. All hand stitched throughout,
with four sided scalloped edge.
CONDITION
In
very good condition, with no rips, repairs, no loose open seams or damage. It
has been hand pieced and lays flat. The quilt does have age related storage scattered
spot stain discolorations from decades of storing. I am sure these will disappear
with its first laundering.
