DESCRIPTION

Analysis and annotation to Alfred Lord Tennyson's poetical reflections on the death of his friend Arthur Henry Hallam. Written by Alfred Gatty. 

The third edition. A very scarce work, rarely seen on the online market. 

Complete with its rare glassine wrapper.


CONDITION

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally a trifle rubbed with shelf wear, minor loss to head and tail of spine, wraps lightly marked. Dust wrapper with shelf wear, with some minor loss to wraps and spine, loose fly leaves loosely inserted, minor scattered spotting to wraps. Previous owner's pencil inscriptions to front free endpaper, with stamp from 'the community of the resurrection. Internally, binding slightly tender, occasional leaf may detach with further handling. Pages generally very clean throughout with occasional minor marginal annotation in pencil and handling mark.
