DESCRIPTION

Eleven volumes in uniform half calf bindings. Comprising Books I and II from 1307 to 1385. Further volumes extend the History from 1386 to 1400.

Sir Jean Froissart's tale of the Hundred Years' War was originally written in French in the fourteenth century, opening with the events leading up to the deposition of Edward II in 1326 and concluding in 1400. This work was a successful and popular, extensive account of the events in Europe, with particular focus on France, England, and Spain. 

The present edition was published for 'La Societe de l'Histoire de France' by Simeon Luce. 

Complete with half titles.


CONDITION

In uniform half calf bindings over paper covered boards, with five raised bands, gilt lettering to spine. Externally with light bumping and chipping to head and tail of spine and extremities of boards, back strip slightly rubbed with minor scuffing. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting scattered to leaves.
