Vintage Austin Productions 1984 'Mother and Child' sculpture by David Fisher

Dimensions are ; 17 1/8" high , 8 3/4" wide , 3 3/4" deep with a base measurement of 4 X 4 X 5 . Material is Heavy plaster , the base is black painted wood . This 40 year old piece by David Fisher for Austin Productions is a classic image by the sculptor both in style and representational imagery . Women and women with children were a favorite subject of his . In this piece which is executed in his typical modern style , the young woman's body rises as though out of rough hewn rock as does the small child , a boy ,who rests his head under her chin on her bosom . This piece is mounted on a black rectangular base . Not exactly mid-century modern but reminiscent of that period with the addition of Fishers own inimitable twist . The back bottom is stamped 'Austin Productions Inc 1984' , and the sculptors name 'FISHER' is incused on the bottom right side of the figure . Condition is excellent and we've priced it very reasonably .
