Offered is a new old stock (NOS) Headlamp Switch 1648880 (sa) 1688993 for 1955 Late and 1956 Chrysler and Imperial. Please check your old Switch with my pictures. It is the "bus bar" style.

My research implies this 1648880 was a late 1955 part that was replaced with the 1956 1688993. A visual difference is the 1956 part included an attached circuit breaker while the 1955 did not. Compare the photo to your needs.
