A 3" tall x 2 3/8" wide round, cylinder-shaped deep COBALT BLUE colored antique INK WELL. This is what is referred to as a 'spool' shaped bottle as it is shaped just like an old wooden spool.   It is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating back to the 1800's.

A super nicely colored example of an early- American Ink Well.  By far, most of the COBALT BLUE ink wells you see today are newer machine made bottles.  It is hard to find one of these early hand blown-into-mold (BIM) ink wells that is cobalt blue, which dates back to the 1800's.  An especially crude example with the roughly formed lip.  As such, these are beautiful and highly collectable antique ink bottles, and this one in PRISTINE SPARKLING CLEAN conditioncheck it out!
