Nisekoi"" is a Japanese manga[1] by Naoshi Furumi. After a read-only version was published in ""Shonen Jump NEXT!"" (Shueisha) 2011 WINTER, it was serialized in ""Weekly Shonen Jump"" (Shueisha) from issue 48, 2011 to issues 36 and 37, 2016.

Ten years ago, Ichijyo Raku met a girl. Although it was a short time, affection grew between the two, even though they were very young. When they parted, she handed Raku a lock with the words ""Zawsze in love"" (""Zawsze"" is Polish for ""love forever"") and promised, ""When we grow up and meet again, I will use this 'key' to take out what is inside, and then... we will get married.

Ten years pass without the lock being opened, and Raku becomes a high school student and meets a transfer student, Senbine Kirisaki. After a terrible encounter, Raku is shocked to learn that his parents have arranged for them to be fake lovers for three years. Thus began their ""Nisekoi"" life together. However, in the course of his relationship with Chitose, Raku begins to wonder if she might be the ""girl of his promise. Raku's classmate Kosaki Onodera also has the ""promised key"" with a boy she once knew, and she begins to feel that the ""promised boy"" for her might be Raku. From the middle of the story, the third girl with the key, Marika Tachibana, appears, as well as Raku's childhood friend Kanakuraba, who has the same key as the previous three. And as they advance to the second grade, they are joined by Kosaki's younger sister, Haru, and Paula, an old friend of Thrush's, among others.
