This is unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and I am mildly obsessed with locks and door knobs… so that’s saying something?!

I purchased this item from the person who salvaged this Early American iron lock firsthand from a historic 18th century house in Charleston, South Carolina.

Its “keyhole” shape is distinctive and it’s also very heavy — weighing in at nearly two pounds. Has two original iron door knobs and one iron rosette. It is very rusted and the lever is currently not working.

Lovely, original patina!

This is a unique piece for the collector… and so you know, I will be posting many more unique salvage items!
