1975 Fender Jazz Bass

The serial number is "606162" which dates it to early 1975. Fender changed from the 4-bolt to 3-bolt on this model in 1974 so this one's probably one of the last! The pots date to February and July 1974 (137-7405 and 7429). The date codes on the pickups and neck are not readable.

The body is in good condition overall, but has a lot of dings, scratches, and scuffs. There is some routing in the neck pickup area but it's all covered by the pickguard. There's an extra pair of holes for the bridge cover but they will be covered up by the bridge cover if you install one. There are extra strap button holes on the lower horn and back of the neck pocket and also one random extra hole on the back. The original owner wrote their name and number inside the neck pocket. There are no cracks or structural issues.

The neck is straight and the frets show average wear. It's in excellent playing condition and has no major issues. The fretboard is clean and the back of the neck has some indents and wear, but no major issues. The headstock has small dings around the edges and wear on the top, but no cracks or repairs. The nut is 1.47" wide, the neck measures 0.87" thick at the 1st fret and 1.00" thick at the 12th fret.

The hardware and electronics are original and in excellent working condition. The pickups measure 7.70 Ω (Bridge) and 7.40 Ω (Neck).

The original case is long gone so I put it in a nice one from a 1970's Japanese Jazz Bass. It has some light wear on the outside but all of the latches, hinges and handle are in excellent working order and the interior has no bad odors.

This one features an Alder body instead of the usual Ash, so it's lighter than most that you see at only 9 lbs 1 oz.

Please note that I do not set up my guitars before mailing. I have played it and everything is great as far as I'm concerned, but you may need to change the strings, adjust the action or do other maintenance to get it to your preferences.
