Antique vintage American Kampkook No. 3 camping stove.  The Ideal Camp Stove manufactured by American Gas Machine (AGM) of Albert Lea, Minnesota.  Patent dates range from 1921 to December 9, 1924.   The stove could be almost 100 years old late this year?

CONDITION DETAILS

I believe the stove is basically in NOS (new old stock) condition and that it has never been lit, except for the testing of the valve and burner jet supply as indicated by the original factory tag attached to the valve assembly.  There is no evidence of heat marks on the steel grill.  There was no cooking grime at all.  There is no evidence of gas having been put in the chrome steel tank.  I was able to see just a bit of the bottom inside of the tank with a flashlight and there are a few minor surface rust spots, but the tank really looks very good inside - especially for a steel tank that is 100 years old.  No major rust inside.  Note that the position of the valve does make it hard to see inside the tank.  There is a little visible rust on the outside of the tank where the brass nut is for filling the tank.  This may clean up.

The valves seem to work fine - both the one for the tank and the one for the burners located at the left end of the stove.  The brass nut for the tank is in excellent condition.  The red decal is very nice as is the brass tag on the outside.  The air pump to pressurize the tank is in excellent condition and comes with the original box.  The box is not perfect as can be seen.  The original marked Kampkook wrench is in excellent condition.  The original paper label on the tank is not perfect, but is very legible and nearly all there.  The overall finish is very nice for the age, but there are some very minor imperfections in the paint here and there.  The last photo shows a rubbed area in the outer part of the case.

Please see the photos which tell the condition better than I can say in words.  No original box for the stove.  It would be hard to find a stove of this age in better condition.

Size of the stove in a closed up position is about 4" X 8" X 14 1/2".  It weighs about 9.5 pounds.

Having been a Coleman collector for many years, this is one of the finest condition old stoves I have ever run into.  There is a very small chance the stove could have been used, but all the evidence tell me it is unused. It is obviously it is a great piece for a collection or for a museum.

SHIPPING

Shipping will be by USPS Parcel Select.  The stove has been carefully packed.  To remove the tank, carefully pull on the end of the tank and take the valve end out last.  The tank is cushioned with a flannel cloth to help protect it.   The stove is essentially double boxed and heavily protected with wrapping materials.  The outer box is heavy duty double thickness.

Shipping will be 2 business days, although in most cases I try to ship within one business day.
