WHAT IS EMU OIL?
Emu Oil is a 100% natural by-product that is extracted from the fat of a large running bird, the Emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae), native to Australia, which is considered to be one of the oldest animal species on the planet, second in size only to its cousin the ostrich.
In addition to providing a meat with excellent nutritional properties, the Emu produces, as a by-product, a 'lard' rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats high in Omega 3, 6 and 9, from which the famous oil is extracted.
In the mid-1800s, Emu Oil began to be exported by early European and American settlers to their homelands where it expanded rapidly, initially by word of mouth.
In the early 1980s, some American farmers began importing emus to increase the production of meat and by-products, first and foremost oil.
From the early 1990s, experiments began by doctors and university institutes to scientifically verify the actual benefits of this oil with its many therapeutic properties.
Today, Emu Oil is used worldwide in medicine and sports.
Emu Oil is currently listed in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods.
PROPERTIES
Emu Oil is not just any oil, but one of the most powerful natural synergies of vitamins (A and E), minerals, Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids and Omega 9 fatty acids, giving it exceptional anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
It is used as a food supplement in the form of gel capsules, or applied to the skin pure or mixed.
Its composition is 100% natural.
BENEFITS FOR THE SKIN
Emu Oil is composed of about 70 per cent unsaturated fatty acids in amounts very similar to those in our sebum and comprises mainly Linoleic acid and Oleic acid.
The latter is believed to be the key substance that facilitates penetration into the deepest layers of human skin, thanks in part to the absence of phosphorus.
In addition, Emu Oil contains vitamin E, vitamin A, antioxidants valuable for healthy skin and Sapogens known for its emollient properties.
Many oils used in skin care or cosmetic applications have a tendency to clog pores, cause acne and create unfavourable skin conditions. Emu Oil on the contrary DOES NOT CLOG THE PORES of the skin (non-comedogenic), leaving it free to breathe.
Emu Oil has among its main characteristics that it is hypoallergenic, transdermal, bacteriostatic, antiseptic, emollient, anti-inflammatory, elasticising, nourishing, re-epithelialising and regenerating.
How does the skin react to emu oil?
The skin consists of several layers of dead skin cells (the epidermis) and layers of living skin cells (the dermis). The dead skin layers provide a watertight barrier to prevent penetration by lotions, creams and cosmetics.
In fact, petroleum oil-based products such as mineral oil and vaseline oil, found in most lotions, cause the skin to dry out more quickly, so use the product more often and increase repeat purchases.
Emu Oil works in a different way. In the deeper layers of the dermis of the skin, the cells are surrounded by a layer of fat that serves them as a food supply.
The types of fats in our skin are mainly good fats.
The surprising thing is that the fats in Emu Oil are so similar to those in our skin that the latter cannot tell the difference.
This is why studies have shown that Emu Oil has transdermal capabilities (it can pass through all layers of the skin) and why damaged, dry, and malnourished skin responds so quickly.
Emu Oil penetrates deep into the dermis and acts as a secondary food supply for skin cells that may be nutrient deficient, damaged or dying.
Emu Oil is also unsurpassed for its moisturising properties, it plumps the skin, reduces age spots, REDUCES WRINKLES, moisturises dry and chapped skin, reduces acne inflammation, softens calloused feet, REDUCES FALLS.
A few drops of oil is all that is needed, massaging the affected area until it is completely absorbed. If the skin feels oily, it means that too much product has been used.
In addition to cosmetic uses, laboratory experiments and analyses on Emu Oil in both Australia and the USA have confirmed its ability to reduce joint and muscle inflammation.
Emu Oil naturally contains a high level of Linoleic Acid, (a substance known to relieve muscle and joint pain) and Oleic Acid, which provides a local anti-inflammatory effect.
Eczema: reduces skin irritation and inflammation
Psoriasis: benefits and improves skin dryness
Keloids: significantly reduces scarring

First of all, don't be alarmed if once you turn the nozzle to the dispensing position, the product doesn't come out... it's ALL NORMAL.
Being a 100% natural oil and having no added additives to keep it constantly liquid, it can happen that if the outside temperature is relatively low, the product tends to solidify.
To make it liquid again, simply soak the bottle in lukewarm water, or warm it in your hands for a few minutes.
This 'behaviour' of the product is to be considered a PRICING and shows that no additives or substances are added to change its NATURAL characteristics.
It is recommended to use a small amount 2/3 times a day, or as needed, applying it to the affected area and massaging gently until completely absorbed.
If the area remains slightly oily, use less product in subsequent applications.
If used in the right quantity, it DOES NOT GREASE the skin.
Particularly suitable for BURNS and SUNBURN.
To improve its effectiveness in the case of eczema or particularly dry skin, soak the affected area in lukewarm water for a few minutes.
Then gently wipe off the excess water with a soft cloth and immediately apply the oil.
For optimal hydration, repeat at least twice a day.
Generally speaking, Emu Oil, being 100% natural and widely used all over the world and tested on sensitive skin, has no contraindications or side effects, but before using it, we recommend you try a few drops to check for possible hypersensitivity to the product.
BENEFITS FOR MUSCLES AND JOINTS
Inflammations
Emu Oil is an oil with exceptional penetration capabilities and proven anti-inflammatory properties. It can quickly penetrate deeply and reduce pain without leaving the 'greasy' effect of normal oils.
Among its many qualities is that of being an effective transdermal carrier that can transport other products deep through the various layers of the skin.
Emu Oil has shown excellent results in the treatment of joint pain due to chronic inflammation (arthritis) or temporary inflammation, reducing pain, swelling and stiffness. Its properties are also appreciated in the treatment of bruises, cramps and muscle pain due to fatigue or trauma.
Increasingly used in sports medicine, Emu Oil products are applied by professional teams and fitness centres around the world. The effects are gradual if used sparingly and often, and it takes about 10 days of use to notice differences and improvements.
Arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, joint pain, swelling and stiffness, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, sprains, rheumatism, tendonitis, cramps, bruises, gout, back pain and headaches.

BENEFITS FOR HAIR
The results were extremely encouraging, with participants experiencing an average of 8.1% regrowth of their hair per month, and an average of 48.4% regrowth over the full six-month study period.
In a study conducted at Boston University School of Medicine, by Dr. Michael Holick and James F. Kinney published in the journal 'Drug & Cosmetic Industry' in January 1996, Emu Oil was shown to be effective in awakening 80% of 'dormant' follicles resulting in hair regrowth.
The conclusions were that Emu Oil has the ability to stop hair loss, strengthen existing hair and reawaken sleeping follicles.
It has been shown to have no side effects and this means that even when fully organic, Emu Oil has such low levels of irritation that they are the same as those found when putting water on the skin, in other words, non-existent.
As Emu Oil is completely natural, it can be a viable alternative to harsh drugs and synthetic substances, in fact it can be used without fear of toxicity, skin discolouration or physical side effects.
Emu Oil is non-comedogenic, which means it does not clog the pores of the skin. It is an excellent moisturiser that adds to its protective capacity, the anti-ageing capacity of the skin and scalp. Researchers believe that the unique combination of its saturated and unsaturated fatty acids may be one explanation for its ability to give skin and hair health and regeneration.
