Land's End First Day Cover
This cover was produced by the late Mister Grant Smith of Taylor County, West Virginia.
Mr. Smith was an old time stamp collector, cachet maker, and stamp dealer. He was also a United States Postal Service Rural Free Carrier and his serviced Thornton West Virginia whichi is West of Grafton/West Virginia. It is in Taylor DountruMr Smith has two first cachets, Smith #1 which is the UX86 Drake postcard and Land's End #1 the 1874 .15 Dirksen.
His cachets were numbered and lettered. The number was for the cachet and the letter was for different stamps and cancellation.
