For sale is a rare late 18th to early 19th Century silhouette portrait with the combination of hollow cut facial feature (negative cut with black background paper) and water color painted dress in fancy gilt frame. The art work is well done to depict all the details of this young colonial lady in her blue dress. The image is set under glass with reverse painted oval border.

The frame measures approximately 7” by 6”. Excellent condition for the image. No water stain or any other types of damage. The hanging hoop on the top of the frame is original and in good condition. Nice patina! Please check all photos for detailed condition.

Overall, a rare-to-find artistically made silhouette water color combination drawing in well preserved condition. It should not be missed by any serious collectors for antique primitive/ early American folk art/ antique drawing and portrait art.
