A superb and rare photo, made from what we believe is the original negative.

If you would go to the boardtrack races in the blooming motortown of Detroit in 1912, then this grim promise is what you could read after you entered the gate “neck and neck with DEATH”… Horrific accidents were normal during race day – and they were expected to happen by the paying public. Photographers made good money with images that were taken next to a deceased rider and his machine if you were willing to pay a little bit extra. It lead to the new nickname for the boardtrack arena’s: “deathdromes”. It was a clear sign of their very sinister image.

This is your rare chance to own this non period photo that reflects a very interesting and highly historic piece of glorious history. Therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 10 x 15 cm - 5" x 8".
