Product Details

  • Everyone’s Favorite Yellow Pad! – You know it by the cover: popular in art schools, art classes, and art studios, the Strathmore 300 Series is a staple in the art community
  • Why is it called Bristol? – The term refers to the early days of European papermaking when mills would send their finest papers to Bristol, England, to be glued together under pressure to form multi-ply sheets
  • Use Bristol to Showcase Your Drawings – A heavyweight, 2 ply drawing sheet helps your artwork look crisp, bright and ready to share without the need for mounting thanks to the stiff, strong surface
  • Two Types of Bristol – Smooth Bristol is preferred for mechanical drawing, marker, and airbrush along with pen & ink; Vellum Bristol is preferred for mediums that require a textured surface to grab pigment, like graphite pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, oil pastel
  • Strathmore: The Artist’s Choice – Deciding the art surface is one of the most important decisions an artist makes in determining the outcome of their work, and Strathmore has earned the trust of the art community for its quality materials

Strathmore Paper Company began St. Patrick’s Day in 1892, when Horace Moses opened the Mittineague paper mill in West Springfield, MA. Ever since then, Strathmore has been a leading supplier of fine art papers under the belief that better paper makes better art. Strathmore provides artists of all levels with one of the widest ranges of quality surfaces for producing beautiful works of art, no matter the choice of medium. Listening to the needs of artists and providing inspiration, education, and innovating new products is at the core of what matters to Strathmore. The 300 Series was developed for quick studies and for the practice of techniques with any media, as well as final artwork by beginning or student artists. The 300 Series Bristol paper pad contains 20 sheets of high-quality Bristol weight board at 270gsm per page. Bristol pads come in two different finishes: a smooth finish ideal for mechanical drawings, air brush, solvent-based marker, or detailed pen and ink illustrations; a vellum finish ideal for mediums that need a bumpier surface, like graphite pencils, charcoal, oil pastels or sketching sticks. These Bristol pads are available in four sizes: 9x12 inches, 11x14 inches, 14x17 inches and 19x24 inches.
