totally serviced, modified for low noise, and sounding amazing! If you've been looking for one of these amps, this is THE ONE. These vintage Fender amps are point to point wired and the word is starting to get out... although meant for bass, and they do sound great with bass... but also sound amazing with guitar in a very tweedy-champ vibe. Up to about 5-6 on the volume knob the sound is pretty clean and rich, above that starts to get into a really nice breakup, and on full blast gets nice and crunchy and saturated very similar to a champ.

This one was totally serviced and all electrolytic caps replaced by Jamie at Joshua Tree Amp Repair in December, Jamie is an amp genius and works on all my amps. After Jamie's service it sounded great but I noticed it still had a slight hum (it is a tube amp) and asked Jamie if he could do anything as I do a lot of recording. He stated that the hum was normal, and that this amp was a student model from Fender, so never meant to be perfect, but he would take a look at it. He was able to re-route some of the grounding scheme and redress some of the wiring and change tubes and now the amp is much better, I can guarantee that this is the quietest and best sounding musicmaster bass you will find anywhere. Now, it's still a tube amp, I'm not claiming 100% silence like a solid state amp, but I can say it's way quieter than my Deluxe or Twin (and they are both serviced by Jamie and in excellent shape also).

Jamie also installed a "amp out" jack, so you can connect the amp to another cabinet. I tried it with my Wizard 2X12 and it sounded amazing.

This is a fantastic recording amp!

It's 50 years old and has some cosmetic wear, stains, small scrapes and scratches as you'd expect. One small tear in the grille cloth. Please see pics.
