Diese Karte hatte ich für mich selbst als Reserve gebaut, benötige sie aber nicht mehr.

Es handelt sich um die Snark Barker MCA - ein Nachbau der leider sehr seltenen Sound Blaster MCV CT5320 von Creative Labs.

Statt dem C&T Buscontroller Chip hat sie ein CPLD, ansonsten ist sie dem Original nachempfunden.

Ich habe alle DIP-Chips gesockelt, so das sie sich ggf. auch leicht reparieren lässt.

Auf dem DSP-Chip ist die Sound Blaster 2.02 Firmware.

Ich habe sie im Model 70 386/20MHz umfangreich mit dem Diagnose Tool und einigen Spielen getestet: Epic Pinball, Arkanoid 2, Prince of Persia 2, Fast-Doom (VIDEO).

Sie hat einen Yamaha OPL2-Chip, Dual-Joystick-Port, Sound Blaster-Midi-Interface und natürlich die Soundblaster Digital Audio-Ausgabe und den Mikrofon-Eingang.

Die Sound-Blaster Midi Schnittstelle ist nicht MPU401 kompatibel, aber dank SoftMPU kann man sie auch mit GeneralSound-Modulen nutzen. Der Voyetra-Sequenzer speziell für Soundblaster-Karten funktioniert ebenso.

Auch in Windows 3.1 und Windows 95 ist sie mit einigen Anpassungen nutzbar.

Die Kompatibilität in jedem PS/2 kann ich natürlich nicht gewährleisten, aber ich habe sie im Model 50, 70, 80 und 95 getestet. Es kann ggf. Inkompatibilitäten mit Erweiterungskarten geben.

Diese Karte wurde von mir mit mühevoll handgelötet. Der Arbeitsaufwand ist sehr hoch und nicht vergleichbar mit einer billig in China gefertigten SMD-Soundkarte!

Ich versende sie sehr gut verpackt in Luftpolsterfolie und in einer ESD-Tüte mit UPS voll versichert aus Spanien.

I had built this card for myself as a spare, but no longer need it.

It is the Snark Barker MCA - a replica of the unfortunately very rare Sound Blaster MCV CT5320 from Creative Labs.




Instead of the C&T bus controller chip it has a CPLD, otherwise it is modelled on the original.


I have socketed all the DIP chips so that it can be easily repaired if necessary.


The DSP chip has the Sound Blaster 2.02 firmware.




I have tested it extensively in the Model 70 386/20MHz with the diagnostic tool and some games: Epic Pinball, Arkanoid 2, Prince of Persia 2, Fast-Doom (VIDEO).

The Sound Blaster Midi interface is not MPU401 compatible, but thanks to SoftMPU it can also be used with GeneralSound modules. The Voyetra sequencer especially for Soundblaster cards also works.


It can also be used in Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 with a few adjustments.

Of course I can't guarantee compatibility in every PS/2, but I have tested it in Model 50, 70, 80 and 95. There may be incompatibilities with expansion cards.

This card was hand-soldered by me with a lot of effort. The amount of work is very high and cannot be compared with a cheap SMD sound card manufactured in China!


I ship it very good packaged in bubblewrap and in an ESD-bag with UPS Expedited incl. full insurance from Spain.
