Mosaic turquoise chip jewelry is an old tradition in India. It is, however, rare to see cufflinks done in this technique. The brilliant turquoise pieces, hand set in a black matrix on a base of silver, will really pop against a white shirt. This estate set was made in India or possibly Singapore and dates to the 1960s. The silver is low grade, maybe 50%. The front has the shape of a crown; it is connected to the back elongated oval shape by 5 links of chain, 3/4" long which is great for French cuffs. The cuff link fronts measure 7/8" x 7/8" and the backs, 1 1/8" x 5/16". Weight is 8.9 grams.
