This is a stunning miniature painting on paper of a lady wearing Central Asian clothes with a cat in a naturalistic setting. The painting is exquisite and the colours as vibrant as the day I purchased it. The artist who created this is Jahongir Ashurov who was born in Uzbekistan. More information about him can be found on his Facebook page, link below. He also has an Instagram page where more of his work can be seen. His works are included in the collections of the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, as stated on his Facebook page.

I was fortunate to come across him in England in 2004 when he was at the N.E.C. He was there on a stand and I was mesmerised watching him paint, it was really magical. I fell in love with this picture as I am a cat lover and just had to purchase it. It came secured in the silver folder and when I bought it, the person who was helping on the stand explained that these pictures were not meant to be displayed on the wall. They were kept in folders to protect them and to stop the colours from fading and they would be taken out now and then to be enjoyed and admired and then put away again. This is how this picture has been stored for almost 20 years and that is why the colours are as fresh now as they were when it was painted. I think, although I am not sure, his signature is on the rock in the bottom right corner, as can be seen in photograph 6.

It is a small painting, the picture itself is approximately 5.5" x 3.25" (14.5 cm x 8 cm). The folder it comes in is approximately 8" x 6". Please study the photographs as they are part of the description. Please note, the first photograph was taken using the flash.
