Harrison Smith and Robert Haas, New York. 1934. First US Edition, 7th. Printing. Hardcover. 494 pages. Includes dust jacket.
Good. The magnificent first novel in the Claudius duology. In blue cloth with blind stamp to front cover and gilt to type on spine. Light dings to corners. Dust jacket in very poor condition, has been extensively repaired. For this reason, it is believed to be the original dust jacket.

Interior is in very good condition. Binding is tight and clean, and may show some shelf wear, yellowing of pages, but not foxing as far as I can tell. No loose, missing or damaged pages. May contain some notes, underlining, etc., which do not interfere with the readability of the book.
Pull-out geneology chart in read is intact. Included is a newspaper clipping of an obituary (reprinted from the New York Times) from the San Jose Mercury News, December 8, 1985.
