Product Information

The Rapido Trains HO Scale Class D10 4-6-0 "Ten Wheeler" is an accurate model of the most numerous class of steam locomotive not only for the Canadian Pacific (CPR), but in Canada. Five hundred and two of these useful 4-6-0s were built between 1905 and 1913, and many lasted until the end of CP steam service in 1961. D10s were employed in freight and passenger work across Canada and into the United States on CPR's many lines. There is truly no more useful locomotive for any steam-era CPR layout than the D10.

As with any steam engine, the D10's appearance changed over the years with variations In headlights, fuel type, walkways and more becoming apparent across the D10 class. This HO Scale D10 features prototypically accurate roadnumber and subclass-specific details including body type with correct details including headlight placement (boiler front or high), walkways, power reversers, straight or angled cylinder steam pipes and bell locations. The smooth-running drive features a heavy die cast weight centered over the drivers for great pulling power, working headlight, marker lights and class lights; complete accurate piping and underbody, oil or coal tender as appropriate; and the model comes equipped with Macdonald-Cartier knuckle couplers compatible with all magnetic knuckle couplers.

The Class D10 4-6-0 comes equipped with an ESU LokSound sound and DCC decoder with a full sound package including synchronized chuff, accurate whistle and bell and full user-controlled lighting including a flickering firebox light. The D10 can handle a minimum 18" radius curve, but 22" radius or larger curves are recommended.
