On offer, we have an original etching by American artist Myron Barlow (1873-1937). This is signed in pencil at the bottom "Barlow". An American citizen, Barlow worked mostly in France, known for his scenes of rural French women. This portrait of a Father and Daughter is beyond borders, it could be anywhere. The etching measures 8 1/4" X 5 1/2". In its custom wood frame, this is 16 3/4" X 13" X 3/4" and weighs 2 pounds 9.5 ounces. The back has a confusing inscription about being both to and from Mom. It also has the framer's label.
This is in excellent condition. The etching is bold and clear and shows a deep imprint. On the middle right, I see a tiny dot that may, or may not, be an age spot (pictured). The frame has some nicks and scratches. I have not examined this out of the frame. As I am not an expert on art, please view my photographs for more description.
My elegant friend is moving to a much smaller home and parting with some of his treasures.
I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
