Lamp base made of uranium crystal glass in yellow-orange/ red colour, etched floral design and cut decorations. Signed Val Saint Lambert. 

Most likely a design by Lucien Petignot from the 1930s.

Glass in very good condition with no cracks, chips, etc. Electrics partially replaced: bulb holders and main power cable. The bakelite switch including its cable appears to be original.

The switch allows the lamp to shine in three modes:

1) only the main, top bulb is lit

2) only the bulb in the base is lit

3) both bulbs light up at the same time

Replacing the bulb in the base is very simple, the brass piece that houses the bulb holders and the brackets for the shade is easily removed.

Currently, a bulb with white light is placed inside the base, but a bulb with UV light can be selected for an interesting visual effect.

Originally, the lamp was manufactured with a matching design shade.
