Vintage December 1879 issue of St. Nicholas magazine, featuring a rare early Santa Claus cover, Christmas stories and artwork, an article on Bertel Thorvaldsen, and a story by Louisa Mae Alcott. Item measures appr. 7.5" x 10" and is in VERY GOOD CONDITION; covers and all pages are complete and intact. Flaws include; light cover wear, with edge tearing, light staining, and residue from a removed mailing label near the top; and staining, and edge tearing, on some pages. Though the magazine pages are secure, the item is fragile and the pages may loosen when read.
