Fun Lore about this beautiful creature:

In the Hindu Puranas it is stated that the gods have their own vehicle, usually an animal or a cart pulled by animals. Kuwera, the god of wealth, owns a wilmana, a flying vehicle that is different from the rides of the gods in general, and he obtained this object from the god Brahma. The Wimana was named Puspaka. In the Ramayana it is stated: "The Puspaka chariot which resembles the sun and belonged to my brother was carried by the mighty Ravana; that fine chariot was able to go wherever it pleased…... it was like a bright cloud in the sky... and the king (Rama) entered it, and the noble chariot, under the control of the Raghira, rises to the higher heavens. [5]" According to the Ramayana and Purana books, wilmana Puspaka owned by Kuwera was seized by Ravana, after Kuwera's power was seized by Ravana. Then Ravana became the King of Alengka. Because Ravana kidnapped Sita, the Alengka kingdom led by Ravana was invaded by Rama and Lakshmana from Ayodhya with the help of the wanara (ape humans). After Ravana was defeated by Rama, the wilmana was used as a vehicle to transport Rama, Sita, Laksmana, and the wanara (monkey soldiers) from Alengka to Ayodhya.
