This is an original press photo. Senator Joseph McCarthy and Dwight D. Eisenhower lean over to shake hands in Milwaukee Wisconsin October 3, 1952 when Ike was campaigning for President. Earlier in the day Eisenhower had endorsed McCarthy's bid for reelection. In center is Charles D. Ashley, Milwaukee county GOP chairman. McCarthy died today in Bethesda Naval Hospital of hepatitis.Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 5-2-1957.
