BUSTER JENKINS Presents Rocky Mountain Jamboree KLAK, Denver Colorado Rare Country Bluegrass Record Circa 1959
DETAILS: Very hard to find Buster Jenkins release on Band Box Records, Denver Colorado. Circa 1959. Buster Jenkins was a popular disc jockey on KLAK Radio during the late 1950's / early 1960's. During this time he was also the Producer of the Rocky Mountain Jamboree, booking many artists early on in there careers who later went on to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Many of the top bluegrass groups of the time appeared at the Jamboree such as The Stanley Brothers, Reno and Smiley, Homer and Jethro, the Dillards, the Stoneman Family, amongst others. This particular record album is the first (and only?) record released by the Jamboree. Aside from Buster Jenkins and the Blue Grass Group, some of the performers credited on back cover are: Johnny Chase, The Flying Wranglers, B. Jenkins, Kay Silvey, Eddie Hammons, Doris. Fischer, Charles Gordon, C. Gordon, Roy Green, Max Allison, Bill Stephens, Jim Moore. Donna Fargo (Yvonne Vaughn) also appears on the record and is the little girl pictured on the front cover. Rare. CONDITION: Vinyl Record is in Near Mint (NM) Condition. Record Cover is in Very Good (VG) Condition with 2 1/2" seam wear to bottom seam. Otherwise cover looks to be Near Mint (NM).
