Antique 1890's Porcelain Plates Rörstrand, Sweden Set of Two Flowers and Fruit
- For your consideration is a set of two charming porcelain plates, smaller and bigger, with similar design, consisting of vividly colored flower sprays and fruit branches all over the body
- Hand painted over transfer underglaze, gilt highlights and rim over the glaze
- Well marked with impressed and printed marks of Rörstrand with the three crowns as well the pattern and possibly the artist's impressed markings AF7 Iv... E and AF8 Iv... O respectively (smaller and larger plate)
- There are holes on the bottom rims, suggesting that these plates were meant to be hung as decoration
- Circa 1890-1920, Sweden
- Rörstrand, founded in 1726, is one of Sweden’s oldest manufacturers and has produced ceramics for nearly 300 years. Many of their items are very desirable and sought after by collectors. The marking and the pattern of the plates presented here are dating them to be from the late 19th or very early 20th. century.
- All original and rare
- Measurements: Approx.: the larger - 8.5" diameter, the smaller - 7" diameter
- Weigh about 1 lb. 6 oz. both
- Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. All original. The larger plate shows some surface crazing and minor discoloration, visible at the underside, consistent with age and use. The smaller does not have discoloration, just glaze crazing visible at the underside. Great display nevertheless!
