For sale is an elaborate fiddle pattern coin silver sugar tongs marked by A. Jacobs of New York City.  The piece is 6 5/8 inches long and weighs 47 grams.  It has shell grips, flared shoulders and a multi-waisted fiddle handle.  The piece is monogrammed “BHH” on the handle front.  It is marked [A.JACOBS] in a rectangle inside one arm with a three-part [Anchor][Bust][Star] trademark inside the other, as shown.  This trademark is attributed to John W. Forbes.

Condition on the tongs is good.  There are a number of stubborn spots, but no cracks or repairs and just normal wear from use.  A nice piece of coin silver.
