1982 Les Paul Custom Silverburst

A really cool Custom in everybody's favorite color, Silverburst. This one is really well worn in a pleasing way, that gives the instrument the appealing vibe of a vintage guitar. There is plenty of lacquer checking around the body and neck, dents and dings throughout, and some wear through to the under coat and wood on the back. Many of the mainstay's of the LP Custom are seen here with multi ply body binding, pearl block inlays on the ebony fretboard, and the split diamond inlay on the bound headstock. A unique feature of this era is the tuners with a 90 degree tab and metal keystone buttons that have a fold out handle for quick string winding.

This Custom has clearly seen a lot of action in its life. As mentioned, there is a good amount of play wear, dents, dings, and scratches throughout. The hardware is well tarnished and pitted in a few areas. That back shows heavy buckle wear and an area of wear through to the under coat near the control cavity with another through to the wood near the switch cavity. The finish on the neck has worn and chipped away, exposing the maple of the neck, from the low E tuner up to about the fifth fret on the treble side. There is another chip on the bass side of the neck near the nut and one centered on the back of the neck at the seventh fret. The headstock shows plenty of wear, dings, and chips along its edges. The strap buttons have been changed to a black set of Schaller locking buttons and a metal jack plate has been added, but the guitar appears all original otherwise including the chainsaw case it lives in. The frets are the typical low and wide profile of the 70s and 80s with just a touch of wear in the cowboy chord neighborhood.
