The newspapers inside this trunk are original and date to 1838.The paint looks to be from a later date but the chest is definitely of the early 1800's.It is in excellent condition and never had a lock.The newsprint has suffered over the years with moth damage and the bottom board has shrunk from the sides slightly.It measures 20" long X 11-1/2" wide X 9-1/4" high. < NO RESERVE >
