Used - Maroon/gilt cloth hardback - chipped. 546+pp. Inscription dated Leek 1906.

The red cloth is faded more along the spine and so is the gold gilt lettering.

The text is quite clean and generally unmarked and undamaged however, but is extremely dirty and discoloured along the page ends, mostly at the top, but to a lesser degree along the side.

The first inside blank page is somewhat faded and possesses a handwritten dedication in black ink dated Oct 1906. See pictures.

Foxing and some scuffing is present throughout. (Hardcover) 546pp.

Please Note - This is the book with the famous first line "It was a dark and stormy night". Noteworthy content: " It Was a Dark and Stormy Night...". (Fiction).
