E II R Presenting his royal majesty, by permission of the Queen of England, is this wonderful, 14" tall, antique cloth, Royal Family, "Prince Edward, Duke of Kent"portrait doll, cousin of Queen Elizabeth, circa 1938, by Chad Valley Co., Harborne, England. He was featured along with Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret in the UFDC, Fall, 1998 "Doll News" Magazine illustrated article and, on the cover as shown in our photos. (Not to be confused with England's current and much later Prince Edward.)

Having a molded felt, swivel neck head he has beautifully molded and painted features, lovely blue painted eyes with highlights, upper eyelashes, sweet mouth, cheek blush and original, thick honey blond, mohair wig with hand sewn side part, applied ears, individually stitched fingers and toes and velveteen body with joints at his shoulders and hips. He is wearing his original pale blue satin shirt with lace trim, black ribbon tie and burgundy velveteen two-piece suit of trousers with matching jacket with lace trimmed cuffs, original knit undershirt, original white knit socks and replaced shoes with ties.

He has both the original Chad Valley sewn in cloth labels on both of his feet: The Chad Valley Co., Ltd./By Appointment/Toy Makers to/H.M. The QUEEN. He is in extremely good overall condition and has no damages or holes, no repairs and no stains or fading and no odors as he is from a smoke free home. (loc 50A)

Our other royal family dolls, including "Princes Elizabeth" in blue fitted coat, "Baby Princess Elizabeth" and "Palace Guard" are not included and are each listed SEPARATELY. All three dolls were featured in UFDC, Fall, 1998 "Doll News" Magazine illustrated article and on the cover which is not included and sold separately.

They all make wonderful additions to a vintage doll collection.  Please note: nearly all of our items are antique or vintage (usually with some signs of wear due to usage and previous storage). We do our very best to describe and photograph them for you and do not repair, restring, repaint or enhance them in any way as most collectors prefer to find them in their original state. Please use the zoom feature on our photos as they are an important part of the description.
