One original owner, with her aging arthritic hands,  changed the original Steuben "S"-marked tube closure with two safety arms to big jump ring so she could still enjoy wearing her necklace. However, the original closure was lost.
The necklace will come in its original box. Approximately purchase period was late 1930s. The authenticity was verified by local appraiser.

"Steuben was founded in 1903 by renowned English glass master Frederick Carder, who named it for the New York State county where the town of Corning is located. In 1918, Steuben (pronounced with the accent on the last syllable) became part of Corning Glass Works, now Corning Incorporated.

In 1933, Steuben created a prismatic crystal formula that could capture, reflect and refract light unlike anything else in the world. Since that moment, Steuben crystal has illuminated everything it touches, casting light on the joys of everyday life."

*Many small eBay fine jewelry sellers cannot afford XRF, X-Ray, Spectrometers  ($20-30K+ machines) to tell you EXACT "K" or gold "%"  to ...0.000001 gram/% as GIA authenticators do. We are going by stamps on our pieces and verifying with RS Mizar and Auricle test-machines.
Surely, we are not in the business of deception or mis-representation (We have been on eBay for over 22 years and ranked as top seller most years), we simply cannot afford the XRF Spectrometer.  Especially with Vintage fine pieces when those undergo soldering and remodeling which bring down gold content when analyzed by a XRF spectrometer.
