Offered for your consideration is this UNUSUAL RARE OLD Antique Whitish / Grayish Percheron Silky Horse Hair Hide Buggy Sleigh Carriage Lap Robe Blanket with a Double Layer Gold & Green Wool/Mohair ? Backing by the Ede Robe Tanning Co. We have been in business over 56 years & have never had one this color before! It measures approx. 62" x 72" & it is in very clean condition and still retains the life time guarantee label ....it was properly treasured. We found only 2 small cuts that happened after the robe was completed as they are through the backing as well. David F. Ede was born in Ontario in 1846. In 1895 he opened the Ede's Robe Tanning Company. His business included tanning hides - primarily horse and cow - and manufacturing fur robes, garments and rugs. Ede furs are scientifically cut and there is no expense saved that would make them equal to the best furs produced anywhere in the world. In addition to fur tanning and clothing manufacturing, Ede employed taxidermists to mount game trophies. The home office was in Dubuque IA.
