This is an antique, original, 1811, full leather book by Joseph Lathrop (1731 -- 1820), American Clergyman.  Rev. Lathrop was ordained pastor of the Congregational church in West Springfield, Massachusetts, USA,  where he preached from 1756 until 1818. (from famousamericans.net)

This book was published by Isaiah Thomas, Junior (1773 -- 1819), an important Colonial American publisher from Massachusetts.  Thomas was taught the business of printing by his father and started his career as a bookseller in 1792 at the age of nineteen. Thomas bought out his father's large printing, papermaking and publishing business in 1802 when Isaiah Thomas, Sr., retired. (from americanantiquarian.org)

This book was printed by Samuel Avery, Printer.   From my research online, I found this printer to be the 20-year-old man, later known as "General Samuel Avery" (c.1791 -- 1867).  Gen. Avery was a native of Vermont and learned the printer's trade in Boston.  When the time came, he served in the War of 1812.  He subsequently removed to Marblehead, where he commanded the local brigade of militia for fifteen years, served many years as a selectman of the town, and represented it in the General Court. Also, Samuel Avery was a printer and publisher, served in the Massachusetts legislature and was a general in the state militia. (from Geni.com) and (from The Boston Globe, Dec.30, 1896).

The book is very legible and solid: a fascinating, antique, 1811 book.  The publisher was a prominent American Colonial book publisher of the 1810's.
