Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this wonderful, old carved fish wall hanging. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This folk art wood carving looks to depict a bass. The carving is nicely detailed, and there is an inlaid eyeball. This item is approximately 19 3/4 inches long. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 13.5 ounces. There is a rusty, old sawtooth metal hanger on the back, so this can be displayed as a wall hanging. This would be an outstanding addition to a collection of country primitives or folk art.
Identification
This item is marked on the back side several times, "CHARLES W. TOPPING." Unfortunately, I was not able to locate biographical information about the artist who made this fantastic piece. The exact age is not known, but this item is believed to be antique. It was acquired in northern California, but I do not known where it was made.
Condition
This piece looks good overall, with minor wear. There are scattered scratches and small dents. It has some fine splits in the wood. There are some chips to the fins, and there is other minor edge chipping. There are some tiny splatters of white wall paint on the front, with some larger areas of white paint on the back. The surface is grungy and dusty, and I have not cleaned it. The metal hanger affixed to the back side is rusty. There are no foul odors. 1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
