1961 Fender Stratocaster Neck

This neck features a slab Rosewood fretboard with clay dot inlays. It was completely refinished back in the 80's and they unfortunately removed the date and original decal. I have handled many vintage Fender necks and I am confident that it's original and not a reissue. It has a small mark on the base that looks like a ">". I've seen the same impression on other necks from 61-62 and the shape of it changed in later years. I believe it's a tool mark from a clamp when they carved the neck.

The neck is straight and the truss rod works. It was re-fretted at one point and was in excellent playing condition when still on the body. The fretboard is clean and the back of the neck a worn area under the current layer of finish. A few nicks but no major dings or gouges. The headstock has small dings around the edges and light wear on the top. No extra holes or modifications. The nut is 1.64" wide and the neck is 0.80" thick at the 1st fret and 0.99" thick at the 12th fret.

This part was removed from a genuine American made 1961 Fender Stratocaster. The serial number was "71277" and the pots dated from October 1960 to August 1961. I may have more parts from this guitar up for sale, so please check my other listings.
