La gamme Reference est déclinée en 4 références. On retrouve donc un Red, un Blue, un Bronze et un Black.
Le câble Reference Red est l’entrée de gamme du constructeur danois. C’est un câble polyvalent, décent, mais pas trop cher, qui serait un excellent ajout à tout équipement audio. Le son est détendu, chaleureux et dynamique avec une haute résolution. La structure est qualifiée de symétrique, avec des conducteurs positif et négatif parfaitement identiques. Chacun d'eux est constitué de 7 tubes en cuivre OFC de 0,5 mm, accompagnés de fils de 0,32 mm, ainsi que de 28 tubes en cuivre HiFC de 0,12 mm.
Ces composants sont soigneusement protégés par un blindage performant composé d'un ruban en aluminium et d'une tresse de fil de cuivre étamé. Ortofon a pris en compte l'amortissement mécanique en enveloppant les conducteurs de fibre de coton. Les isolants sont fabriqués à partir de polyéthylène et d'élastomère sans halogène. Les connecteurs RCA sont d’excellentes qualités et offrent un excellent contact mécanique et électrique.

The sound is relaxed, warm and dynamic with high resolution. The structure is described as symmetrical, with perfectly identical positive and negative conductors. Each of them is made of 7 0.5mm OFC copper tubes, accompanied by 0.32mm wires, as well as 28 0.12mm HiFC copper tubes.
These components are carefully protected by high-performance shielding composed of an aluminum tape and a braid of tinned copper wire. Ortofon took mechanical damping into account by wrapping the conductors in cotton fiber. Insulators are made from halogen-free polyethylene and elastomer. The RCA connectors are of excellent quality and offer excellent mechanical and electrical contact.
