Mean Joe Greene, famed defensive tackle of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is the star of an NBC-TV Project Peacock special, "The Steeler and the Pittsburgh Kid," with the award-winning Coke commercial in which he appeared serving as a springboard for the one-hour drama, Sunday, November 8 (7-8 p.m. NYT). Henry Thomas, 10, stars as nine-year-old Nick Smith who learns about values, discipline and relationships when temporarily adopted by Mean Joe Greene and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
