A very nice, old French frame, in oblong format, made of wood with handsome gilding, in an eighteenth century manner. It can be appropriate housing for many kinds of paintings, prints, or drawings. Provenance is a recent auction at the Hotel Drouot, Paris. When I acquired it, at a recent Paris auction, it was framing a late 18th century print. I believe the date of creation of the frame to be the second half of the 19th century.
Dimensions are about 13.5 inches by 16 inches, with a picture opening of about 11.75 inches by 14 inches. As you can see, there are a few dings, but the overall effect remains very appealng, with a very nice antique effect. Modestly priced, a good value. Shipping within the U.S. will be $12.
