For sale is a large size Antique 19th century American Hooked rug with decorative geometric shapes.  The rug is in great condition.  Largely intact with some wear to the edges, but that is to be expected for it's age. This is certainly an older example with nice muted color and great patina.

American hooked rugs began to be created in the 1840's and were a frugal way of making rugs using extra bits of fabric or pieces of old clothes.  They often used a burlap backing as that was readily available from feedsacks.
