Magazine Photograph signed: "Geraldine Fitzgerald", "Jack Manning", "Victor Jory", "Walter Reed", "Morris Carnovsky", "Keith Andes", and on verso, "Howard Keel" and "John Raitt", 1 page (front and verso), 9x12. Magazine page featuring black and white images, showing scenes from several stage performances including This Rock, Outrageous Fortune, The Voice of the Turtle and Othello. Born in Dublin, GERALDINE FITZGERALD (1913-2005) went onto the stage and then into films. She was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for Wuthering Heights (1939). Other starring roles included Dark Victory (1939) and Wilson (1944). She aged into distinguished character roles, as in The Pawnbroker (1964), Harry and Tonto (1974) and Arthur (1981). JACK MANNING (1916-2009) appeared on Broadway stages for over twenty years in comedies (Junior Miss, 1941-1943; The Tender Trap, 1954-1955), dramas (Othello, 1943-1944; O'Daniel, 1947) and musicals (Alice in Wonderland, 1947; Do I Hear Waltz, 1965). A character actor in films and television series from 1957 (Studio One in Hollywood) to 2004 (Hearts as One), notable credits include The Owl and the Pussycat (1970), The Paper Chase (1978-1979) and Silver Spoons (1982). Canadian-born VICTOR JORY (1902-1982) was U.S. Coast Guard boxing and wrestling champion. He played occasional leads, but more often character parts in films, often as a heavy, such as brutal overseer Jonas Wilkerson in Gone With the Wind (1939). Key roles included A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935), Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1938), Man of Conquest (1940), The Miracle Worker (1962) and Papillon (1973). Actor WALTER REED (1916-2001), born Walter Reed Smith, was the son of an Army officer. He first appeared in stock and on Broadway before breaking into films (with the help of Joel McCrea) in the early 1940s. Reed's films include Military Training (1941), Seven Days' Leave (1942), Return of the Bad Men (1948), Fighter Squadron (1948), Superman and the Mole-Men (1951), Submarine Command (1951), Thunderbirds (1952), War Paint (1953), The High and the Mighty (1954), Hell's Island (1955), The Helen Morgan Story (1957), The Horse Soldiers (1959) and Fort Courageous (1965), and Reed also appeared as a guest star on a long list of television shows, including three appearances on The Adventures of Superman (1952, 1958), as well as on Westerns, sci-fi series and sitcoms. In the late 1960s, after appearing in the made-for-TV movie, Deadlock, and directing the TV film, The Monk, Reed retired from acting to become a real estate investor and broker. MORRIS CARNOVSKY (1897-1992) performed Yiddish theater before moving on to Broadway stages, where he was seen in dozens of plays. He was a founder of the Group Theater (1931-1937), which performed socially relevant works. When he entered film, Carnovsky again preferred movies with a political viewpoint, such as The Life of Emile Zola (1937) and the anti-Nazi Edge of Darkness (1943). He and his wife Phoebe Brand were blacklisted from Hollywood in the 1950s, but remained active on stage, especially in the American Shakespeare Festival, Stratford, Connecticut. Carnovsky made a few more screen appearances late in life (The Gambler, 1974). Actor and singer KEITH ANDES (1920-2005) made his film debut in The Farmer's Daughter (1947). He played mostly second leads in several action films, including Blackbeard the Pirate and Away All Boats (1956), and Andes also starred in three TV series: This Man Dawson (1959-1960), Glynis (1963) and Paradise Bay (1965-1966). A fine baritone, Andes toured on stage in the 1960s in starring roles in Lucille Ball's Wildcat and later in Man of La Mancha. HOWARD KEEL (1919-2004) first appeared on the stage in Broadway's Carousel and in the London production of Oklahoma!. He was later a favorite leading man in the heyday of Hollywood musical comedies. He starred in such hits as Annie Get Your Gun (1950), Showboat (1951), Kiss Me Kate (1953) and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). His most recent on-camera credit was the supporting role of Clayton Farlow on the TV series Dallas (1981-1991), but he made TV guest appearances into the 1990s. JOHN RAITT (1917-2005) came to national attention when he took over the role of Curly in the national tour of Oklahoma (1944). The following year, he debuted on Broadway as the star of Carousel. He took his stage role in The Pajama Game (1954) to the screen (1957). He didn't much like film work, however, preferring to tour in stage performances. Raitt, closely identified with standards he had made famous such as "If I Loved You" and "Hey There". He had a one-man show in the 1980s. John Raitt is the father of popular singer Bonnie Raitt. Slightly worn at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
