For sale is a hand carved signed ICHII-ITTO-BORI (Japanese yew wood) mask of OTAFUKU in good overall condition.

ICHII-ITTO-BORI is the Japanese traditional carving style using only chisels to carve or cut Japanese yew wood.

After the OTAFUKU mask was hand carved using chisels only, it was aged and a traditional shellac was applied.

The 12.8cm (5") long and 10.5cm (4 1/8") wide mask has nick, marks, thin scratches, wear, thick dust, etc..

The Japanese artisan signed the ICHII-ITTO-BORI OTAFUKU mask but we are unable to read the calligraphy.
