ITEM DESCRIPTION

Description

Up for your consideration is a large 18th C. bronze sculpture depicting Shiva, with one of his wives (Sati) slung across his left shoulder. This is a very uncommon depiction of Shiva, and is certainly a museum-quality piece. Conservatively, the sculpture is about 250 - 300 years old, though highly similar pieces (base and construction) often date these to the 17th C.

Size

The piece measures 24.75" tall, 13.5" wide, and about 10" deep. The bronze is very heavy, weighing about 65 lbs. 

Condition

Excellent original condition, free of damage or losses. There is surface wear, and green patination, consistent with age. There are also some minor casting flaws (insignificant) on the base. Such flaws are inherent in all pieces of this size from this vintage, so the piece was likely for royalty or the very wealthy.

Refunds: Refunds are available, but we must be contacted within 7 days after receiving the item. If a refund is requested, the buyer is responsible for all return shipping fees. The refund will be made once the item is back in our possession, and that it arrives in the same condition that it was sent.
