These hinges would be great for renovating a house that needs some nice vintage hinges
- They are nice and tight and not all worn out like many vintage hinges.
- Likely cast in the late 1880's to the early 1900’s.
- Made by Reading Hardware Co. Their logo cast in the back
- You can find out the year they were cast by the logo. There are websites with that info.
- There are a few casting flaws
- One hinge has a small chip under the fixed steeple point. See photo. Pencil points to it and it will not effect the use of the hinges.
- These have a nice sharp, clean and fancy casting.
- The pins are loose and removable.
- These hinges are ready to go and swing for the next 100 years.
- The pattern is also on the back of the hinge knuckle and shows when the door is closed.
- The hinges were stripped of all the paint and wire brushed.
- They likely should be clear coated to prevent rust
- They are 6 1/2" long from steeple tip to tip
- The hinges are 3 1/2" wide laying open.
- 3 1/2” tall
