“THE SPIKE” is made of 6061 grade aluminum construction and finished with a durable Anodized Coating. With our black color anodizing option, we offer a Hardcoat Anodizing feature. This provides a thicker more durable protective coating which will help the antenna stand up longer to bottle openings, extreme temperatures and exposure to direct sunlight. The hardcoat feature is only available with our darker black color due to initial process turning the aluminum darker. The anodized coating cannot peel or flake off. It is part of the metal and gives the aluminum a deeper, richer metallic appearance. Now your antenna can serve another function we all find ourselves looking for at some point, A BOTTLE OPENER!!!!!!!

*** There will be a reduction in antenna AM/FM performance due to the shortened antenna size - as with any short AM/FM antenna mast. The longer the mast the better the reception. Loss of reception will be based on location; if you’re in the middle of New York City the performance reduction will be less than if you were located in the middle of the Sierra Desert. This is due to relative location from broadcasting stations. The closer you are to a broadcasting site, the better reception you will get. That being said, “THE SPIKE” antenna serves the purpose of AM/FM station reception. It will not affect Satellite Radio, Navigation or Bluetooth.
