Good: There is some light wear and appropriate patination and dust.
Description: This basket is an excellent example of
antique Asian coiled basketry. The translucent Peking glass bangles are colored
an exquisite goldish red-orange. The bangle on the lid is 3 ¼ inches in
diameter. The two Peking glass bangles on the sides are 1 ½ inches in diameter.
There is one large green Peking glass bead attached to the lid. There are two
smaller green Peking glass beads and one carnelian colored Peking glass bead
also decorating the lid. There are 5 copper cash coins also as part of the lid décor.
(I believe these coins are 19th century).
The item was part of an
Orinda, California estate with no collection history.
