Orisha Oko is said to be a strong hunter and farming deity, a fighter against sorcery, and a master at settling disputes between orishas. Planting seeds and aiding in growth, Orisha Oko is also a wonder teacher, tending to his students as a farmer tends to his crop.

Among the deities, he was considered a close friend of Oosa, Ogiyan and Shango, as well as a one-time husband of Oya and Yemoja. Bees are considered the messengers of Oko.

Zaka is said to be the loa of the harvest in Haitian Vodou. Depicted as a farmer who loves to eat, he is kind and gentle and he has no alternate sinister (petro) form. He is seen as a protector of peasants and defender of the poor.

Both Orisha Oko & Azaka are identified with Saint Isadore.
