Customers like the sound quality, value, appearance and quality of the speakers. They mention that they sound great for the price, produce a rich and balanced sound and that the walnut finish is perfect. They are also satisfied with highs, clarity, and detail. That said, opinions are mixed on the build quality.

PegasusXXVI 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent speakers that scale with gear. Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2019 Color: BlackStyle: SpeakersVerified Purchase I'm fairly new in this audio journey and after many months (almost a year) since i bought these and having 2 different amplifier/dac setups and upgraded to a decent (to me) denon integrated amp, now i can finally appreciate how good these speakers really are, and they're already pretty good with cheap amplifiers, i remember having my jaw dropped when i first heard these speakers after upgrading from the polk audio t-15 which were my first ''audiophile'' setup with a smsl dac and smsl amp, i was smiling while listening to my music library admiring how good everything sounded, only problem was that the treble was a bit harsh sometimes but it didnt bother me much and i didnt think i would need to upgrade my setup any time soon, i was totally happy with it, watching movies, playing games, listening to music and all but last week i had one of those impulses and began to wonder, ''what if...'' so i decided to step my game up and bought myself an amplifier from denon. It was the day of reckoning, i knew i was going to experience a slight improvement since i was going from a 250 dollar smsl setup to a way more expensive denon integrated amp and i also was expecting the amplifier to have a different coloration to the sound but what came next i wasnt expecting. MY MIND WAS BLOWN. The speakers sounded so good it was as if i had bought a more expensive pair of speakers, more refined, spacious, airy, instrument separation, sweetness to the treble, strong bass, the sound stage was incomparable i didnt recognize not even remotely what i was listening to anymore, it was all new to me, i was raving. These speaker are a steal for what they cost, i totally recommend buying them and as the gear gets more expensive they sound more expensive too. This hobby is great! 21 people found this helpful Helpful Report Amazon Customer 4.0 out of 5 stars Comparing Budget Speakers Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2021 Color: BlackStyle: SpeakersVerified Purchase I bought these speakers for a home theater/music listening dual purpose. I compared with 2 other budget speakers. I'm not a high end audiophile. I don't have scientific test equipment or decibel meters and I wasn't looking at the frequency curve, just listening to audio and comparing. That being said, I compared the Jamo S 803, Elac Debut b6.2, and Infinity Reference 152. Result: I returned these speakers and went with the Infinity Reference speakers (get them on sale).  They look great though really, very stylish and can sit in the living room without being an eyesore. The versatility with the atmos passthrough was attractive and front ported means they can be put right up against the wall. Sound was..decent. They're a little bright sounding and fatiguing to listen to for a long time in my opinion. The mids sounded very recessed, but vocal clarity is a big point for me. These speakers did require more power than the others and sounded almost..veiled when listening side by side. That being said, for the money these did not sound bad by any means. The bass was pretty light, and when paired with a sub these sound way better. In a home theater setup, for the price, these are hard to beat. Elac: Got these on sale for slightly more than the Jamos, but they are originally more expensive speakers. That being said, I honestly liked these less than the Jamos. Much better build quality, but I got the 6.2 which is a physically larger speaker so direct comparison is difficult. Bass was where these stood out. Great low end, very full and slightly warm sounding. The mids and highs sounded a little muffled on these speakers. These were very comforting to listen to, and with the right music they would be great speakers. Not my pick for home theater use. My testing helper loved these speakers! They seemed polarizing if you like the sound signature or not. Wow. These speakers are very clear. I got the 152 speaker so same size as the Jamos. The cabinets are a little large, but they sound great. The matching center is awesome (would have loved the larger speakers and center but couldn't fit them in my setup). For the size though, the sound is great. They have clear highs and mids without being fatiguing like the Jamos were to me. Great for music and have a little punch for home theater. Pretty neutral sounding. Paired with a sub they sound much bigger than they are. the Jamos, especially the home theater kit with the fronts, surrounds, and center is an awesome deal. If you can pay just slightly more and the Infinity speakers are on sale, do yourself a favor and get those. 10 people found this helpful Helpful Report Brian 5.0 out of 5 stars Very good sound Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2024 Color: BlackStyle: SpeakersVerified Purchase I needed a front bass port speaker to be wall mounted next to my tv. These sound great for front port, they do have all the downfalls of a small cabinet front port speaker but are better then I expected. They excel at voice in the music and have a lot more bass then I thought they would, had to turn the bass levels down. I made the choice to try these because of the lowered price but after hearing them they compare well at their original price segment. They aren't very efficient speakers with a 87db sensitivity rating but still project well enough to fill the room with sound and using a modern reciever with an audyssey mic balanced them out perfect in my surround sound system. I just wanted a speaker that did the surround well but I could play music through also, these do both very well Helpful Report Chandler G. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great speakers Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2020 Color: BlackStyle: SpeakersVerified Purchase I had been eyeing these for awhile, around Black Friday 2019 they were about $200, for the holidays they went to $147 and stayed until two weeks ago they dropped to $140 and I grabbed them at that price, along with some monoprice banana plugs, oxygen free wire, and some isolation feet. The speakers got here quickly along with the wire and they sounded incredible, my room is wide and short so finding the right soundstage was a bit difficult, but I got it sounding good and spent about 40 hours breaking them in with bass heavy background music during my stay at home order for the covid pandemic. It's about two weeks later and I've since installed the banana plugs and isolation feet and that sweetened the sound up some but mostly just helped fix the wonky soundstage issues I have in my oddle shaped room. Overall these speakers are amazing for the money and I'd still buy them again and again for $200+. I will be getting the jamo s801pm for my desk due to the great sound these have. As others have state the 803 models need room to breathe, I'm not sure they would do well as neat field use, thus the reason I'll be getting the 801 for my desk. But sitting 10-12 feet back in my living room setup in 2.0 they cover a full range spectacularly. A sub is only wanted, definitely not needed with these for general listening and some watching. Buy them...a few times if you can.
